Salford Quays – 28th September

Article Written by Karis Benn and Roisin Chambers

An excellent Saturday event with Tony Dudley. The workshop started at four o’clock, took in the architecture and neon lights of Salford Quays. The late afternoon and early evening light presented a huge variety of colour, shapes and atmosphere to challenge the photographer. Thankfully Tony Dudley has the patience of a saint and John Simpson has an excellent sense of humour which encourages and motivates, so all in all, the 6 members who joined the workshop had first rate tuition and support from an advanced photographer. The practical part of the workshop included composition, including the use of leading lines and a strong focal point, long exposures to capture the light features and reflections of light on water. In the final session, Tony Dudley demonstrated how to use Photoshop to create panoramic images and how to highlight the colours within the image.

This workshop is highly recommended for the quality of tuition and value for money.

Thank you John and Tony.
