Land of the Jaguar – Pete Smith

November 4 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
A presentation on the birds & other wildlife seen whilst on a trip to the Brazilian Pantanal. The Pantanal is the World’s largest wetland. If overlaid onto Europe it would cover at least 9 countries.
Pete travelled to the Brazilian Pantanal in late 2019. This was to be his first step onto the South American Continent. Hoped for highlights included the World’s largest parrot and the cat with the most powerful bite of all cats. Other highlights included Giant River Otters and a shy Brazilian Tapir.
He has been a birder in one way or another for most of his life. After taking early retirement he joined a local photography society to pick up on a hobby from a long time ago. He is passionate, not only about seeing birds, but all wildlife and nature and going on to show the natural world to others.
His love of wildlife & photography has taken him to some wonderful locations to see fantastic flora & fauna.
